Subject: Normandy Challenge presented by UnitedHealthcare
The ride of a lifetime for any fan of history and what happened on D-Day, June 6, 1944. The trip will feature Medal of Honor recipient Walt Ehlers* and Distinquished Service Cros Bob Slaughter*, who both fought on D-day and received their awards due to their actions in Normandy, as our official tour guides. They will be there to tell the group first hand experiences as we visit places like Utah and Omaha beaches, Pointe du Hoc, Carentan, LeFiere, Brecourt Manor, Goville, and Caen.
After riding for 5 day thru the D-Day battlefields, the ride will join Stage 6 of the Tour de France in the finish town of Liseux. if you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of HTC spinter Mark Cavendish as he sprints for the finish.

Bike and Chowder Century 1
Terri Gutierrez and Ken Grossmann are thinking of organizing a Bike and Chowder century in October. The most probable date is Oct. 24. It would set up as an option for the usual Sunday ride. We are informing you now so that, if interested, there is ample time to prepare.
We do not yet have a route, but we expect it to be essentially flat, out and back, with a few turnaround points to allow for shorter rides, like 50 miles, 100K, etc. The route will be designed to provide options for water, snacks, lunch, etc. The current plan is for the ride to be essentially unsupported, so we would hope that people of somewhat similar capabilities start together and remain together for mutual support.
Feedback from B & C members would be helpful.
Stay tuned.

Bike Wanted to Buy
Samantha Levy is looking for a used bike to buy at a moderate price as an upgrade from her current bike. 52 cm (or possibly 54 cm ) frame. Samantha is a pretty strong rider and is hoping that an upgrade will propel her to the front of the pack. She is not exactly rich so a quality bike at a good price would be helpful. If you have a bike you are looking to sell or know of one, please contact Samantha at: (575) 646-5280 or samlevy@nmsu.edu.
